What a beautiful day in the neighborhood

Or campus..
But really it is gorgeous out, I'm loving it! I can't wait for spring, it's going to make getting up for class so much better!
So for all of you who know me, I'm have an obsession with old men, not like a creepy one where I want to have their babies, but I just think their so darn adorable. (this may be due to the fact that I've worked at a retirement home for three and a half years...) So every wednesday I get out of my recitation about 20 minutes early so I hop on over to Oldfather to get a cup of joe, and there is my new best friend behind the counter, he's just so darn cute and that is mainly why I go get coffee because honestly I don't really need it.. but still that is my story for ya, now I'm sitting here outside waiting for my other class to start in this lovely weather with my cup o' joe.
Happy days

First spring day of the year.

I love it and hate it. It's so wonderful and feels nice, and everyone is out and about riding bikes, playing sports, going on runs and it just feels so nice (nice enough to avoid doing homework all day)
So my parents and I went on a nice lovely walk and it was just grand. We saw two ducks getting it on and it was really funny, then when they stopped my dad quoted the lady bird and said "Welp, that was fun, now I need a cigarette." I laughed so hard it was just way too funny.
I always forget to take pictures but here is my dadio walking in front of me, the river was floooowing crazy today.

Come at me bro!

The two highlights of my day were a) making valentine's day cards for the retirement home and b) skyping my dadio from the Hi-way diner. He's the best.

Now off to cough my lungs out.. Sorry Jordan!

Rainy Days

My day was supposed to be waking up and spending alllll day doing the homework that I just didn't feel like doing during the week. Cool right?
This is how I actually spent it:
Woke up at 12:30 to my dad emailing me from his bed asking me what we should do for lunch. So we decided to head over to the Famous Dave and have some soup and salad. Yummm it was good.
Came home and was still hooked on doing my homework because it was only 2 so I started and then my mom came home and she was just sooo talkative so I was trying to read while having her in the room, fail. I read 8 pages in an hour and 5 minutes. Really? Yes. Then she persuaded me to go shopping with her and I mean.. how could I resist? Sooo we went to Target :) And I got some nude heels!

Then we made our way to Old Navy where I got some jeggings, and then the Gap and thennnnn Pier One, I love that store it always smells so good and it's so colorful and I want to just buy a home and decorate it NOW. All the smells and the pillows and the....giraffes!  :)

Then my mom and I went to Blockbuster to get a movie for our girls night. We got Up in the Air and it was actually really good and funny. And I mean, with a movie comes popcorn... or should I say KETTLECORN. Yum.

My dad ordered some indian food and I ate all that up and my mom got some of this leave in conditioner so we washed our hair and put it in and then popped in the movie and had a splendid night.
So much for homework right?

Broadway Sing-a-long

I think my favorite thing in the world is cranking our favorite broadway songs up so loud that you can barely even hear each other scream the lyrics while driving around town. I've loved it and have done it since we could drive. My personal favorites include Defying Gravity and of course my obsession right now 96,000. It's the best feeling ever and you can be as cheesy as you want.
Cracker Barrel is always delicious and it makes me so happy because there are so many old folks there (I think every old couple is cute and every cute old man I want to marry, just kidding but I love old men) and I get to act like a kid and play checkers on the huge checker board while waiting for a table. SO fun.
I'm glad I got to see some old friends tonight even if they were lame and went home before watching The Social Network. It was a fun night and it reminds me of old times. Awe.
I would post some pictures but if I posted the pictures that I took while watching the movie I think Anna and Tayler would both find a way to kill me later... so we're gonna have to pass on the pictures tonight to save my life. Sorry!

Motivation.

I need to get it together.
After reading Selective Potential (the blog) I really feel motivated to actually do this. I mean I thought I was actually doing it but I know in the back of my head that I'm not. So I'm going to put it out there I'm going to tell the world how I am going to lose weight before my sophomore year of college. I am. and I'm going to work hard to do it. I want to lose at least 25-35 pounds. I think I can do it. NO I know I can do it. I have to workout though and I have to stick to my Weightwatchers diet. I have to. So help me guys, if you see me sad or down, don't let me get out my feelings by eating a pint of our guys Ben and Jerry. I need to do this and they aren't helping. Oh and if you hear me say that I don't think I'm going to workout, tell me I'm wrong and I need to workout, it won't take that much time and effort  and it will help you in the long run. I'm going to do this, I need to and I want to have self confidence, I don't think I've actually had it since I was in the first grade.
Yes, here we go. Starting Sunday (Because that's when I weigh in and start) I am going to be serious about this.
The thing is I want to go to France in May and see my sister and have her be amazed at how I look, I'm growing my hair out and I'm going to lose this weight, I want her to be so surprised and proud of me. I need this.
Here we gooooo.
